It takes more faith to be an Atheist than to be a Christian!
Yes, it does, doesn't it?
If i were to tell you...
"Hey I got this watch! And boy oh boy, is it amazing how it happened! There was this abandoned factory somewhere which had some transistors, batteries, and plastic. Suddenly, there was an EXPLOSION! And i happened to be walking by and suddenly this.. thing.. fell into my hands."
You would already be thinking i was mad. Obviously, a WATCH has to have a WATCH-MAKER who completed EVERY TINY DETAIL! But this is EXACTLY what many believe, even though a human being is definitely more complicated than a watch. They come up with amazing theories about "Oh, there were all things floating about and suddenly an explosion- then a strange plant opened and out came a two-legged creature we call Humans..."
Wow. That would Really take a whole load of faith and i am really proud of you. However, you can be Sincerely Wrong! Yet, there are more and more self-proclaimed Atheists in this world.
This is a short post- but do think about it- this analogy IS indeed apt.
As for Christians, let me tell you a story...
A Church was moving, and the bandwagon with all their things was going up a hill, so the Pastor went to pull it and everyone else got out to push from the back. However, the Pastor began to feel extremely tired and weary, and it seemed as if the Bandwagon was getting extremely HARD to push. Finally, he heard talking and looked back and, LO AND BEHOLD!
Everyone else had stopped pushing and were now sitting on the bandwagon- COMPLAINING!
"Hey, why is the pastor so slow?"
"Maybe we should get a new, stronger pastor..."
NO, that is NOT the problem! The problem is that NONE OF YOU got down to Push! And that is also how so many churches 'die out' after a few generations- because everyone in church gets so comfortable that they start just sitting and looking at the Pastor slave away.
In Exodus 17, an analogy of the church is given in Israel's Battle with the Amalekites-
1. Moses parallels the Pastor.
2. Raising his hands parallels the prayers offered.
3. The army fighting below parallels the CHURCH MEMBERS.
4. Note that the Pastor is not the one fighting, but the one PRAYING, and the army is fighting for him!
5. Note that it is not the strength of the army which helped win or lose- only when Moses' hands went down (i.e. Pastor stops praying) then Israel lost.
6. Note that when Moses' hands grow tired, Joshua & Aaron help him hold his hands up! Added Prayer Warriors...
Does not this really show how IMPORTANT prayer is? Do not underestimate prayer!
